I ended up having lunch with my friend on Saturday.

Pizza today for everyone.

My knee is slowly getting better. Walked 3 miles this morning.

Overall, nice relaxing weekend.

Memorial Day weekend thread - phantom - 06-01-2010

I didn't walk for a week and then went 9 miles with 35 pounds in about 90 degree heat. A little sore today.

I'm really amazed at what good condition I've gotten into this year. I'm sure all of you are so proud of me. Smile

One of those kittens I found (the one JCW liked) developed a big abscess on her neck over the weekend. I wasn't sure if it was an abscess or a swollen lymph node until it burst today. Hopefully she will be OK. I had antibiotics to give her. She's precious. Purrs all the time.

Memorial Day weekend thread - snarg - 06-01-2010

wooly, can you do something about this??

I hope everyone didn't get to much of a drink on. I would have liked too but these damn tests are in the way of my fun. We cleaned the garage and did yardwork so now I have been sneezing non stop.

We went shopping and I always love the idiot who has to comment about my pink hair just low enough so they think I can't hear. Stupid people, I was in kind of a pissy mood and my sons knew this and said come on mom lets go. It was too late because I walked up to her and said if she was a raving beauty instead of some backwoods ass redneck I would care, and if given the chance her husband would be glad to fuck me and my pink hair. He had to walk away as I could hear him laughing. I really hate living in redneckville usa, and not being able to drink in public.

on another note, I am allowed to have sex again and I am horny enough to do it so I been fucking like crazy, my husband is not sure what to do because any thing wrong and I could be in serious trouble . He said he will be easy hahaha yea like I am gonna let him.

I had a couple drinks for the first time since Xmas while I was at the Public Enemy show. Long Island Iced Teas. How girly! I'm sure it'll be another 6+ months before I do it again. Freakin lightweights.

Suz - glad to hear you're back on the baloney pony! That's gotta be nice. Why would anyone comment about pink hair though? I see people with pink hair all the time, is it really that "crazy"?

Where I live yea it is odd. I live in the bible belt sorta. The ending part, but the bible belt nonetheless. Apparently old people forget they did anything weird when they were younger, like have sex in cars, bathroom stalls or dye their hair crazy colors.

My favorite is when little girls say " mommy she has pink hair, can I get that too" It makes me smile everytime. The best was when I was in the hospital and some lady kept asking is it real, can I touch it. I wasn't sure if she was nutty or serious.

I'd probably make up a story about being radioactive and glowing pink or something, REALLY freak people out. Damn squares.

I shot a 96 at a tough course.My putting was terrible.

I would fucking sell my clubs if I shot in the 90's as much as you do. How can you play golf that much and still be that terrible?

Thats a great question.I'm pretty sure I'd wipe the floor with you honestly.

LMFAO. I can't even remember the last time I shot a 96. Of course I play maybe 1 time a year now. But I'd still take that bet.

I'm sure the goat ranches you play are tough.

My problem is no practice. If I actually go hit balls regularly I'm in the mid to high 80's.

You play at least once a week. That IS practice.

And I usually only play really good courses. Because the only time I play anymore are in fund raising type scramble tournaments. A couple of years ago I played the Byron Nelson course just a few days before the tournament. It was in tournament condition and the greens were about a 10 on the stemp meter (holy shit, they were fucking hard to putt). Seriously, if you can get a 3 putt on greens in that condition you feel like you stole something.

Playing once a week only helps so much. Its not like I can rehit a drive after I shit the bed on one.It seems like I've been playing a lot of hilly courses with uneven lies which I struggle with.I usually putt well. The faster the better.Gives it a truer roll.

I will be in the 80's by the end of the year.

I remember my first round on those greens. If you had a downhill putt, seriously if you just touch the ball you hit it too hard. it was the craziest thing i had ever seen. it was like being on a glass surface and trying to get a ball to stop rolling on a tilt.

And if a putt had a lot of break, you couldn't hit it hard enough up the break without hitting it too hard to stop at the end.

It took at least half a round before you could ever get close to adjusting and it was still just a wild hope to get a 2 putt on any green.

I play a 3 wood off the tee, because the longer shaft on my driver is more limber and I have such a fast swing that I tend to slice drives with my driver.

With a 3 wood I can be consistently 250 yards to 300 yards and almost always in the fairway. I'm usually solid with my iorns from 210 yards to about 100 yards. The shorter chips are a little more difficult because I just don't play enough to keep the feel for those. I can't stand the sand, so I make every attempt to never get in there (of course in scrambles you get zero practice in the sand). I'm pretty good once on the green, but there again, the lack of playing time hurts there. But i will almost always be putting for birdie or par on a whole.

My biggest problem is doing stupid shit, like trying to go over trees to cut a corner. Or trying to get over water rather than laying up. Or going for the green from 270 yards out rather than laying up to give myself a full swing at the green.
