I didn't say I liked him. But if you look at who could run for the rebs:
Mccain Gulianni and First all have anti super right leanings. Santorum is the poster boy for the right.

You should start asking yourself :
How's more important
1. the dude called "president"
2. the dudes/dudettes that the president calls "counselors"
So who's gonna have the less worst counselors ?

I don't know. Seriously, I couldn't guess. I don't really know who the insurgents are exactly. Some say they are Al Quaeda, some say they are pissed off Hussein supporters left from the army, some say they are foreign fighters manning the Jihad, and some say they are the Sunni's that are pissed that the constitution leaves them with an imbalance of power. But, they are working out compromises. Apparently the Sunnis, for the most part, are happy with them. We'll just have to wait and see.
I wasn't around when this country started, but I'm sure it wasn't something that came together in a few weeks or months. I think when it comes to doing the right thing, you don't worry about the short term costs or how long it will take. You just do it.

So you feel confident but not confident enough to give a guess on how long we will be there?Does it concern you that Iraq was created by Winston Churchill in the 40's with good intentions but is still fucked up all these years later?Do you think it would have been a good idea to liberate Libya back in the 80's during their terrorism years or do you think our policy of sanctions and a wait and see attitude worked? When do you think we will invade N korea, Saudia Arabia, China, Cuba and the Sudan? These all face the same oppressions that Iraqis faced so why not push for those countries to be "Liberated"?North Korea has a torture\forced labor camp as big as delaware where its a holocost every day of the year. Why wont we speak up for those poor people?Keep in mind I agree with the invasion of Afganistan because they harbored a terrorist that attacked us.Two of the four I mention have WMD's so what are we waiting for?Your picture of Iraq right now is to rosy and I think you know it.You just cant go imposing your will unless its absolutly neccasary which I think we all can see with the ever changin reason for Iraqs invasion (1.Bin Laden ties 2.WMD's3.Taking out a dictator) it wasnt.

You are doing a lot of talking, but not much reading. Let me spell it out.
Invading Iraq was not about wmd's, although I honestly think the US intelligence thought they would be found. Hussein's wmd's are not what scared us, they are just what gave us a "sellable" reason to take him out of power and put in a more favorable US and democratic government.
The real reason we had to take him out was one that we could not publicly speak about. 9-11 exposed a very critical weakness that we have. Our economy. It exposed the fact that for very little money, a terrorist group could do great damage to our economy. Enough of these small attacks and we could possibly be damaged critically.
Russia fell apart because of their economy.
Hussein was sitting on a printing press of money. If he wanted to sponsor terrorism against us, he could wipe us out. He wasn't going to do it with his scud missles or any other wmd's he might have. But he could do it with his money.
Now, if you are Bush or anyone else in office and you realize the impact 9-11 had on our economy, are you going to admit that weakness publicly?
North Korea is not sitting on a wealth of money. In fact, just the opposite. Some say that they will go bankrupt just trying to sustain their military power. They are someone else's fight right now. The Chinese and Japanese will keep them in tact.
As far as Libya, you haven't heard much out of them since Reagan bombed Qadafi's house that night. His "line of death" sort of went in hiding. His day will come.
