Larry Harris (Milwaukee Bucks GM) Sent Me An Email - TomFoolery - 07-12-2005

Yeah, I sent him one last week and he replied.

TomFoolery Wrote:Larry,

Hi, Tom (Foolery?) here. Loyal Bucks fan for 10+ years, loyal Bucks season
ticket holder for 5 years.

I'm writing today to share my view on something that would make me, for the
first time in roughly 2 1/2 years (2nd half meltdown of 2002 season),
consider why I am a Bucks fan.

I sincerely hope you are not thinking of re-signing Daniel Santiago this
off-season. If you didn't have a chance to watch him during pre-game
warmups in years past, let me tell you something--you're a very lucky man.
That 7'1" piece of trash does nothing but put up 17" jumpers and sloth his
way towards the hoop to attempt layups--both things that would get the guy
benched and/or chewed out if he ever tried that weak stuff in a game. When
he does get NBA minutes, the results aren't much better; the guy doesn't box
out well, he can't play above the rim, and his slow feet mean that the only
clean shots he attempts are when there are obvious defensive mismatches.

It is depressing to know that someone with his lackadaisical work ethic and
lack of talent can play for a team that I support, and I write with 100%
sincerity when I say that I think that he is a disgrace to the Bucks
organization.

If you insist on wasting money on signing a no-talent stiff, sign me to a 1
year contract. I'll play for 1/4 of the loot you'd pay that guy, and I'll
give you 80% more heart.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I sincerely appreciate it.

Tom

Thanks for emailing me your thoughts. I can tell you that we are looking to upgrade our center spot and that we will most likely be looking elsewhere for help. We feel we are in a position to get better at the 5 spot and that is what we intend on doing. Your comments are definitely appreciated and thank you very much for your support the last 10+ years. It is great to have fans like you.

He responds to all fans.

P.S. If they got any foul calls in 2001 they were in the Finals vs. the Lakers. You know this. Big Dog takes 78 shot attempts without getting fouled? x 1,000

I was at the game 6 or 7 buck vs. sixers that year, whichever one closed the series out and ray allen missed a wide open 20 footer to end the series.Quit your bitching that team sucked.

There is talk about Theo sending him, Wells, and one other to the Pads for Burroughs, Nevin and a starter.

I don't want Millar but I think Burroughs and Nevin could use a fresh start. Guys are getting killed out here.

Larry Harris (Milwaukee Bucks GM) Sent Me An Email - SanDog - 07-12-2005

PS, I don't want Wells either.

Larry Harris (Milwaukee Bucks GM) Sent Me An Email - WoolyGoat - 07-12-2005

I know you guys are tired of waiting for Burroughs, but why the heck would Towers take Millar and Wells? If Theo can pull that off, god bless him.

I don't know why we would do it except to say we could use the post season experience they bring, and I think many here see Nevin as a problem child. Same way you guys see Millar.
It would free up 1st for Klesko, making the OF spot for Nady.
I would miss Sean, but Phil, no so much.

Well consider me in full favor of that deal.

I'm guessing the salaries about line up?

Yes, I do think that Larry hinted that Santiago won't be back in 2005-06. Thanks.

Larry Harris (Milwaukee Bucks GM) Sent Me An Email - WoolyGoat - 07-12-2005

Not quite, but close enough...

Millar - $3.5m
Wells - $4.075m

Burroughs - $1.675m
Nevin - $9.5m (how many more years does he have?)
