So at the start of the Super Bowl -

They introduced all of the Super bowl MVPs from previous games. The only problem is they skipped SB 24, 18 & 16. Then I realized it was Joe Montana they didnt introduced. I know he was in Detroit on Friday and Saturday because he was on ESPN doing interviews.
Anyone heard why they didnt?

So on ESPN they reported this morning. Appearantly they were a few who didnt attend.
Harvey Martin. - Deceased
Jake Scott - In Australia on vacation.
Terry Bradshaw - At home with family problems.
and get this
Joe Montana - Seems that Joe had requested the NFL pay a $100,000 appearance fee if they wanted him to participate.
This does not look good for Joe.

this is true, the NFL offered him $1000.00, tickets to the game, first class air, and use of a caddy while he was in town for the appearance. He declined.

The NFL is just as greedy, they used a new ball on every play, just so they could sell a "used" football.

Being a life long 49er fan and huge Joe Montana fan I am saddened by this. The Super Bowl had alot to do with the image Joe now has. He seems to have gone from great football player to great football player/real life asshole

Fuck the NFL..
what does joe owe them? not a fuckin cent.. you think the NFL is worried about all the old skool guys like Jonny U (who can't close his hand anymore)?
The NFL is all about promoting themself.. that was all that was about.. Look how good we are.. blah blah blah.
They should have spent more time on a collective bargining agreement..
