So we got a pumpkin to carve out for Halloween. My little girl helped, took all the seeds out and wanted to plant them. She kinda sprinkeled them in our old flower bed, got out her little watering can, and checked on them everyday. She was so sure something would grow. Little cutie.

Then, mommy had an idea. I went back to the pumpkin patch today and bought a few small ones and sat them outside to make it look like they grew. Yall should've seen the look on her face. :lol2:

Nice work. You should also start the Halloween Fairy tradition. The whole day after Halloween the kids get their candy. That next night they get to choose a favorite piece or two. The rest goes into a big bowl/cauldron for the Halloween Fairy to pick up while they're sleeping.

She takes the candy but leaves a cool new toy or outfit.

how to grow pumpkins:

dry the seeds, just let them on a plate ontop of a napkin, cover with a napkin and store in a cool dry place. come april, take the seeds and plant. to plant the seeds you should make a mound of dirt about 12-18" tall and about 2'-3' round. flatten the top and plant the seeds in a circle around the top of the mound. make sure they get plenty of water. by the end of september you'll have some nice pumpkins.

Also not. Most gourd type plants need to be planted in this manner. neck pumpkins, cantalope, watermelons-not so much....

You told me about this last year. :lool:

Mom and Dad usually end up eating all the candy. That's no good either.

If you cut a little hole into it you can pour in a bunch of rum.......

The Halloween Fairy is either supposed to donate the candy to a shelter or THROW IT AWAY. D'oh!

Don't lie. You cut the little hole for a different reason.
