Average replies to threads in GD - bdic - 04-22-2004

On page 1 right now, 37 topics (not including the pinned topics) with 111 replies. That's 3 replies per topic.


I thought we were going to start condensing some of these to make it easier to read. You know, so everyone doesn't have to open 15 different threads by one poster to see 15 pics that have no way of initiating conversation. No offense to those who do it (seriously), because the pics are appreciated, but when you have to navigate 4 pages of it to get to one of the discussion threads, it kinda makes the site unreadable.

Just sayin'.

The only way----instead of a member posting 15 topics, post 1--with the 15 pics or links in the topic. Most of the time it's done, the topics are posted right on top of each other (within minutes of each other)---so why not just start one topic titled 'bdic's daily pic dump' or something similar. If one stands out significantly more than the others--go ahead and give it its own thread, but most of the time that's not the case. If it's an amusing pic, but has no possible way of generating any significant amount of discussion---just put it in the 'dump' thread.

Simple as that. This should be done by the poster. It should not be a responsibilty of the mods/admins. The members should be smart enough to understand why, how, and when.

I have to agree with this. The place I come from can have topics that are 8 or 9 pages long, that just wander through many actual subjects which are not related to the original topic.

Did that make any sense?

Anyway, too many topics can be tiring. I am going to start replying all my stupid subjects in one thread. :fuck:
