trip ran $600 a man for the full 24 hours. The trip itself actually took longer. We trolled for fish on the way out and caught 1 wahoo. It was a 10 hour boat ride out to the rig which was about 100 miles offshore. I watched college football all day (saw app st beat michigan) and rested up pretty much.

The other guys on the boat was bitching b/c I paid the captain as soon as I got on the boat. Since I booked the trip I collected all the money. I had 33 $100 bills in my pocket and didn't want to take a chance of losing it so I paid him when we got on the boat.

The whole 10 hour ride out there we caught 1 fish... and the crew was bitching. They were saying the captain was taking it easy because he was paid...

We got on the boat at 8am and started fishing at 730 PM. I got so pumped I started pounding crown and 7 around 6 pm. One of the guys had a DVD recorder on the boat... I realized watching it I don't remember much. we caught our first tuna around 830 PM and was catching them 2 at a time until 130 am when the captain said we were heading back. The biggest yellow fin I caught was about 80 pounds. It took me just under an hour to land it in the boat... it was the last fish I caught and I was wore out/drunk by then.

Update:

Talked to the captain and mailed my $600 deposit for this year. Sounds like we'll be making a yearly Labor Day trip now. August 30th we'll be heading out and we will leave later in the day so that we can fish all night.
