Apparently some sports commentator said that the only way the other golfers in the field could beat Tiger would be if they "lynched him in the back alley".
Tiger said he wasn't offended and considered the statement to be a non-issue.
Jim Brown, basically says that Tiger is a pussy and is being too politically correct. He thinks Tiger should have come out and took a stand, but says he didn't because he makes too much on his endorsement deals and didn't want to bring any negative press.

I was watching the golf tourney when she said it.I never thought anything about it at the time because you could tell she was complimenting tiger.Supposedly she's friends with Tiger and he was I thought very gracious about it.
That being said Tiger as the most recognizable athlete in the world who happens to be not white really doesn't get into racial issues at all which he could if he wanted to.I don't know if its about endorsements,I suspect it has more to do with him not feeling black or any race in particular. He's half asian so I wonder if he doesnt feel apart of any race enough to take a strong stand on issues for blacks.Put that together with the fact that he's spent his whole life on golf courses surrounded by whites and probably because of his talent hasnt been discriminated against to often so I don't think he identifies with these issues like blacks would like him to.
I made a $50 bet almost 10 years ago with a buddy that Tiger wouldnt break nicklaus's major record based solely on the fact that I thought Tiger would get killed by some crazy redneck but him not taking stands on racial issues hurts my chances.

I think certain people (rev. Sharpton, etc.) look to prominent minorities to take a stand whenever there's an opportunity to take one. They insist that these "victims" should feel insulted even when they're not, for the betterment of the cause or whatever.
In my opinion, it's important for Tiger or whoever to just be true to himself. If he was offended he should speak up and say something. If it didn't bother him at all (which I believe is the case, because the two have known each other for like 12 years or something) then he owes it to nobody to make a big stink out of nothing.

You remember after Tiger won his first Masters.... The winner of the Masters gets to pick the lunch menu for the luncheon at the next year's Masters for all of the players.
Anyway, they were interviewing Fuzzy after the tournament and he said, "Well, I guess next year we'll be eating fried chicken."

Tiger was cool about that as well.Tiger could if he wanted to really make a difference in terms of race relations because he's got white america's ear.It would be sad if he wasted that.

Well, I've always preferred guys that just take the high road. I like the way he handled this stuff. Sort of like dealing with trolls. Acknowledging them, only makes it worse.

I watched the torrey pines tourney last night on the golf channel and at the start of it they made that women who made the lynch comment apologize to the viewers for like 30 seconds.Very uncomfortable.

Who was the guy that got into the beef with Tiger at the end of last season? Was it Rory Sabatini?

Looks like Rory and Tiger might be paired together today. That would be interesting.

Rory is a nut case not just with tiger. When one of his playing partners (Crane I think) was playing really slow he just hit whenever he was ready and was always waiting at the next tee box while Crane was still putting.
When I was watching last night someone behind him hit a drive within 50 yards of him while he was on the green and he was pissed. He turned around waved his arms and pointed at him and then took 10 minutes to make a 4 foot putt.

He's South African, so he might make a special case for Tiger.

Meh, they aren't pairing them by standings today. Rory and Tiger were both 5 under and I was hoping they were playing together.

Sharptons a joke. He's a 2008 version of a minstrel show that white love to laugh at.Blacks like me should be outraged that he's a representative of our community.
