Euros don't understand things like our complex stock market. Disney is a safer bet than wal-mart for many reasons. Parents will always take their kids to disney land/world or whatever for the nostalgia. Also there are park locations other than the US that are thriving. As far as the stock goes it splits whenever it gets over $100 so that families can afford it. It has split 7 times since 1956 anywhere from 2 to 1, 3 to 1 or 4 to 1....

they still do crappy cartoons and it's not like owning a TV station that nobody watch "helloooo" and some crappy sport channel that this is going to save them.
When you think about disney you think about cartoons not "espn and abc" the day people loose confidence into "the cartoon and fun industry" their stock value is going to go to the abysses.

well you shouldn't make fun about Euros who don't understand your "complex stock market" because it seems that A LOT of people up there in NY have the same issue.

After my daughter was born, and I saw how much Disney type stuff gets bought on babies, I got her some Disney stock. They have an auto purchase program where every month it debits her savings account $100 and buys shares. She started with about $1,000 in stock and has been buying $100 per month every month since after she was born.
But, that stock hasn't gone all that high. But its been pretty steady.
