How do you feel about the Nomar trade?

Minneapolis news teaser was Doug M involved in a four team deal that included Nomargarciapararaararararararararararararararara, details at 10. So, I spent the next 3 hours wondering WTF are the Twins gonna do with Nomar. Second, Short, and Third are all sown up.

Vit E is not happy with the loss of Doug Mientkiewicz. It was cool to see him get a couple hits at the big inflatable toilet befor leaving town. Nomar? Jimmy Fallon is probably wicked devistated now that his Boston character's gonna suck(even worse).

I assumed Nomar was gone after this year anyway (I don't think he was pleased with the A-Rod talks) so his leaving doesn't take me by surprise. I knew the Cubs were trying to deal for him earlier in July and it would have been nice for the Sox to get Clement, but it didn't happen.

It sucks that Nomah isn't in Boston anymore--he came up in the system and was with the Sox his entire career. He symbolized the Sox much more than Pedro, Manny, or any other player in Boston IMO.

Now he's gone, that does suck. Boston still has heavy enough bats to get them pretty far in the postseason (I hope) and Cabrera is no slouch at SS. Doug Meinkewsixicliyqhncovic gives them a good 1B (and bat) which is nice also.

I'm actually more upset with the Contreras trade since Boston will no longer have a guaranteed victory against the Yankees. Man, I'm gonna miss the boys picking off his splitter that doesn't drop and putting it over the monster or tagging him for 5+ hits per inning. I'm not sure what his career ERA is against the Sox but I think it's over 20.00 this year and his career ERA can't be much better.

i'm sad to see nomar leave myself. he symbolized throwback baseball, well at least he did in recent years, his game has been on the decline this year. probably a wise move on boston's part, knowing he wasn't going to stick around next year.
