Eagles' wide receiver attempted to play damage control on Monday after reports surfaced last week that his agent is asking for a new contract. "As of right now, I'm a Philadelphia Eagle, and that's where I want to remain," Owens told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I had one of my best years there, so why would I want to leave? I just want the fans to know this is nothing personal. It's business." Owens later denied local news reports that suggested he skipped team meetings in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, but he did concede that he was late for meetings last year and even fell asleep during some he attended. "Ask any player in the NFL if they've ever fallen asleep in a meeting, and if they say no, they're not telling the truth," he said. Owens added that he was seeking treatment for his injued ankle during the meetings he is accused of skipping.

T.O. declined to say whether he would boycott minicamp if team officials refuse to meet his salary demands. We should find out the answer to that question soon enough, as it's considered highly unlikely that the Eagles will agree to renegotiate the seven-year deal that Owens signed prior to last season.
