I'm doing a good bit of it myself....not all of it...finished the plumbing/electrical/hvac over the past weekend....a little bit of framing left to do then I'm ready for drywall...as for cost, 575 sq.ft addition and it includes putting central air in the entire house, 100% new kitchen (today is the end of week 1 without a kitchen) = < 45 grand.

Close.. I have a spare bedroom but the wife is old school... she is faithful to a T and I doubt she'd let you ram rod her.
