Dude took a hockey puck to the face
#1

Had to carry my buddy to the hospital last night. Guy was trying to clear the puck and chipped it up right into my buddy's face. Hit him square on the upper jaw and fractured his upper jawbone straight across just under the nose. Also cracked his pallette (roof of the mouth) from front to back. Basically, his front teeth still attached to the jawbone got jammed down and into his mouth.

When the doctor grabbed both sides of his jaw and pulled them apart, pulled his teeth back up and out and then snapped the roof of his mouth back in place was about the worst sound I've ever heard.

He's got two things still going for him:

1) He got his teeth cleaned that morning, so he was styling for the docs.
2) He's going to have some funny ass wedding pics next week.

Not against the hockey rink. They've got disclaimers everywhere. Against the dude, maybe. He was just trying to throw the puck into the zone and decided the best way to do it was to flip it over someone's head. No other people around, so the guy could have easily just gone off the boards instead.

He's got to get checked by an oral surgeon at least once a week for the next six weeks, so he had to cancel his honeymoon trip to the Greek isles. Big question is whether he can get the 8k he laid out for that back. All the medical is pretty much covered by his insurance.
