First time in a while.
They had a chic on there that was getting her PhD in neuroscience or something complicated. She was obviously a brain.
Anway, she breezes through all of the rounds to $500,000. During the game she had revealed that her best two subjects were music and US history. Well, to go for the $million, you can hear the category, but not the question. Then you have to decide to risk it all or stop.
She could have kept $500,000. The category was US History. Fifth grade level.

Her question was "Who was the first American pilot to ever pilot a plane faster than the sound barrier?"

If she gets that question right she gets $1,000,000.
If she gets it wrong she leaves with $25,000

is it a trick question??
if not, i say yeager
send me the million clams
I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk. A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind. A need to return to genuine practice, right effort. Need to push on the great doubt. Need for the spirit. Hang on to the clear light.

Her dad was in the audience, looked to be in his late 60's maybe. He was squirming in his seat waiting on her to answer. You could tell that he knew the answer.

So, you can tell she is puzzled. She starts going down the lists of pilots that she has heard of......
"Well, I know that Charles Lindburgh was the first man to fly across the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean."

But she doesn't lock in an answer yet.
Then she says, "I know that Emilia Earhardt crashed into the ocean trying to cross".........

So then she says, "You know I know that I should know this." The moderator guy says, "Yes, I would think this would have been a really big deal. Probably got a lot of attention."
She said, "I'm sure it did. I know I should know this".
By this time her dad is all but jumping up and down in his chair.

So she keeps going back through the names. Lindburgh, Earhardt, Howard Hughes.....
Then, suddenly she gets an answer. And locks in.
