in massachusetts you have to make at least 3 "work contacts" each week.

Whats the difference from buying weed and having a doctor write a prescription for pills middle to upper class people don't even need?Every social class has drug problems its just if you're white there are ways to make it legitimate.

I'm not a drug user, but I know you are. Despite being illegal, it doesn't bother me that you choose to use YOUR presumably hard earned money to buy pot. It's your money and if you choose to spend it that way, that's your decision. The same goes for "middle to upper middle class people" using prescription pills.

I just think it's different when people are using MY money to buy drugs. If you're collecting taxpayer money you shouldn't have the right to blow it on drugs.

You know you can't enforce that.If you consider yourself conservative I don't understand how you want the government piss testing hundreds of thousands of people.I get what you're saying but its not realistic and is just chest thumping over the weakest people in our society.

saying "it's not realistic" is a much stronger argument (and probably a valid one) than arguing people should be allowed to use drugs so they don't commit crimes. that's just absurd.

People should be allowed to use drugs in the same fashion as the people in higher social classes do.My point may sound absurd but in the streets as we brothers say there are very few outlets for the frustration of living in a economically depressed area and the alternative to getting high is possibly crime.Sad but true.

again, that's fine if they're using their own money. using government handouts to feed drug habits is nothing short of a complete waste of public help.

Welfare is a loss leader from the get go.The gain is less crime and someone to raise their kids besides the state.Should we test for nicotine too?Thats probably as destructive as smoking weed since it leads to health problems we all have to pick the cost up on.Worrying how they spent the money is as pointless as wondering why they havent found a job yet.Just get comfortable with that spending because unless you have some magic plan to cure mental illness and human laziness or don't care about a huge jump in crime and homelessness then there is nothing that can be done.Living on welfare is a miserable existence.
