The biggest threat?
#1

What do you think the biggest threat is to our national security?

fukkin cheney, hands down

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

the dedication of our enemies.
even if we are vigilant at our watch standing we wouldn't be able to stop everything.
if our enemies have the dedication to continue we are vulnerable.

but let the dumb sons-of-bitches come over here and start shit on american soil and you will see every swingin dick with a gun come out of the woodwork to defend our country.

just a thought though.

The fact that you have officially entered into the state of "permanent war" (well it was said "against terrorism").
Anyhow terrorism is not an enemy it's a mean that groups may use to instigate terror.

So now declaring war on "terror" is saying something like "We now announce that we are ready to attack anyone who may enter into the *terror* category".

Moreover this state of permanent war, creates a huge risk on your civil liberties; because we all know that during a war certain things aren't questionned anymore.
For example :
"we are going to wiretap without needs of any warrant from now"
"this is a terrible decision for the liberties, who are you going to monitor and why ?"
"why are you upset, if you have made nothing you aren't going to have any trouble"
"but still government should respect my intimacy sphere"
"again why are you questionning this act, we are in a war, a war against terror. We are going to take any measure not to have a 9/11 again"
"Don't you realize that even the best tools could be used in the most machiavelic ways ?"
"If you hate your country you can just go away, are you anti-patriotic ? your questionnings makes me thinking that you are maybe a danger to our nation !"
...

THIS is the real danger.

War and peace are two different things; and you don't prepare the peace the very same way you prepare a war.

(that was the boring message of the day)

I think Ntype is right on with that^^^^^
I also believe that the continued outsourcing of jobs, the record setting trade deficit, and the national debt all leave us more vunerable.
