I'd rather go young and develop talent than go old and be back in the same boat with less to work with in 3 years.Trading Pierce for picks or expiring contracts would have been the way I'd go but I don't think Danny feels confident building a team with any pick but the 1st.Thats the mark of a weak GM.If I thought this trade would make them a contender I'd be for it but right now I see the Cav's, Bulls, Pistons and probably the Heat as better teams and thats just in the Eastern Conference.

Who would you build around? Do you think Jefferson is good enough to be a center piece?
You really think all of those teams are better? Who do the Cavs have? How much do the Pistons have left? How much does Shaq have left?

I'm laughing at you right now.The Pistons match up fine.The Bulls as well.You are acting like you got the 1990's version of Allen and Garnett, you know those guys that couldnt get it done in the prime of their career?Pierce has always been overrated.I'm going on the road so I don't have time to debate but ask yourself "is just getting to the finals all you want?" If so good for you but you're a loser.

I've said if they don't get a title it's a disaster. I've also said I don't think they'll get a title...but I don't think they have absolutely no shot at all.
You're writing them off immediately, saying that none of them could get it done in their prime, so why could they now? Well, they're all toward the tail end of their primes and they all have not one but two other guys who can put the ball in the hole. Pierce scored 25 a game last year, Garnett led the league in rebounding. It's not like these guys are 38 years old.
I don't think they'll win it all, but they're far from the joke you're making them out to be. I just find it funny that you consistently mocked the Celtics young talent and now you're saying they should have built around it.
Oh, and who guards Pierce/Garnett/Allen? "They match up well." Terrific, thanks for the analysis.

Do I need to spell shit out for you?I know basketball.What I say is usually gospel.For your kool-aid coated brain here's some free analysis.
Rondo<Billups
Ray Allen<Rip Hamilton
Pierce=Prince
KG=R. Wallace
Perkins<Nazr Mohhamad
Looks like they do match up pretty well.Pistons get the edge because they are winners.
Rondo<Hinrich
Ray Allen<Ben Gordon
Pierce>Deng (very close)
KG>Noicioni
Perkins<B. Wallace
Bulls get the big edge because their bench is so solid.Geez another good matchup.
Please don't brag about paul pierce averaging 25 on a team that won 33 games again, its embarrassing for you.
Now I just laid out why two teams that didnt even make the finals are better than the new celts but you go out today and buy those season tickets just like danny wants you to do.3 years from now you'll accept what I'm saying and will wish you were already in the 3rd year of rebuilding rather than having no picks and another 5 years of what last year was like for the celts.I'm not saying the young guys you had were going to win the championship but at least you had room to make deals and get picks.What you have right now is fancy wrapping paper but no substance.Good luck.

Prince has hit more big shots.Please show me the biggest shot of Pierces career.
Wallace can cover KG.KG is better on offense.
Not much to say about any of the bulls matchups, huh?

Pierce is overrated.Whats the biggest shot he's ever hit?I was at the playoff games with him and Walker vs AI and himself and Pierce choked.Nothings changed, you'll see.
KG is better than Wallace but if I was the Pistons coach that matchup wouldnt scare me.He's going to get his points but the overall matchup favors the pistons by a lot.
Allen averaged 25 in 55 games last year on a team where he could shoot at will and the team sucked.Gordon averaged 21 playing in every regular season game and averaged 20 in the playoffs.You are stuck in a 1999 time warp or something when Pierce was an up and coming star and Allen was at the peak of his NBA career.That was then, now Allen is on his last legs.Just because you score a lot on shitty teams doesnt mean you are capable of winning big games.

Pierce has hit a lot of big shots, he's been the crunch time guy on this team for years. Why do you think they lost 18 in a row when he was out? They'd get down to the last 4 or 5 minutes of the game and no one knew what to do. They'd turn it over, take bad shots, get shot clock violations. Pierce is the calming influence, he knows what to do. Of course, he's had limited opportunity to do that on the playoff stage because his best teammate has been Antoine. Now he's go TWO teammates who are both better than Antoine ever was. He also carried them past Philly and Detroit in the '02 playoffs.
You keep bringing up individual failures without recognizing the decreased individual load each player will have.

What is this an office or a basketball team?Decreased workload?How does that factor in when they can't matchup with in their conference?So what they get to the playoffs?My arguement is you arent going to win a ring with that squad so why bother.I don't blame you for being excited that your team is relevant again but at least look at the situation objectivly.We havent even discussed any matchups with western conference teams because they would be the 4th or 5th seed out there.Again congrats on maybe making the conference finals.The fact that Pierce, KG and Allen are being called the new big 3 in celtics basketball is ridiculous.Birds probably laughing.

They shouldn't be called the Big Three, that's ridiculous. Kevin McHale must be rolling over in his grave.
Do I realistically think they will win a title? No. Do I realistically thing they can win a title? I think so. Last I saw they were at 5/2 to win the conference. They can hang with anybody in the East, and at this point I'm allowing myself to be excited for now, but only actual games will show how it will actually work out.
I'd like to be excited because I really have no other choice. They're all likable guys on my hometown team who seem to have a legitimate shot at doing something. And trust me, I'm trying to convince myself as much as I'm trying to convince you.
