Timberwolves Head Coach

Bird you make great points in your response.

BIRD33 Wrote:Being a floor leader and being a team leader are two different things.Floor leaders are good players but cant shape a francise.Team leaders dont tolerate lack of effort or passion from anybody.Where is the outrage at Flip's firing from KG if his firing is due to a lack of effort from certain players, isnt he the captain?Would Jordan,Bird,Magic etc.. tolerate guys like sprewell walking all over the team?It is KG's team Spree's walking all over.Show some balls and stand up to him.

The 80's celtics were a pure team. No thugs! As for the Bulls, Dennis Rodman, and The Lakers, Curt Rambis, both hot heads and a distraction to the teams. However, those fukkers still played hard. I've never seen a team with two crybabies of this caliber.

[QUOTE=BIRD33]Glenn Robinson hasnt played in a game this year due to the fact that Iverson wont play on the same floor with him because of absolute lack of effort the big dogs brought to the team. Its Iverson team and if you dont play hard you dont play.

Iverson totally over steps his bounds. Hence the firing of Coach Brown from Philly. That team will never win a championship while A.I. is on the roster. They've put too much stock in a wanna be rapper who can't stay healthy.

RACK the Glide!!!

The firing of Coach Saunders was obviously a move to shake up the team. Being as Sprewell/Cassell's combined street value is that of a squirt of piss, the only viable move was to fire the coach. It just sucks that the business of pro sports.

Fuck you...luck my ass, there is no luck in a 7 game series. How the fuck did the Lakers get there beating the Spurs if it was luck? The Lakers straight got their asses handed to them by the Pistons, so don't tell me it was luck. That's the most ignorant thing ever spoken on this board. I give you a lot a credit, most the time...but this is just hog-wash.

Lakers - did have the marquis players. But like the Mavericks they're a luxury tax flop. Every team needs role players. The one thing both of those teams lack is a head coach that can control the players. I'm not saying the coaches suck or not. The players aren't controllable. Both franchises are trying to buy a championship by bringing in big names.

The best part of this.
Lunch pail no superstar teams win titles, because they play with heart!!!

RACK the BoSox and the Patriots!

Is it hypothetical that Jordan wouldnt tolerate lack of effort or passion?I dont think so.We all think Flips a good coach so whats the problem? Two bad apples spoiling the bunch.Who's job is it if the coach cant get the players to play, most would say the captain.Look at the team Iverson carried to the finals against the Lakers.Mutumbo,Derrick Coleman(bad apple), Eric Snow,Arron Mckie,Speedy claxton,George Lynch,Randy Buford.Does this look like a bunch of boys and hasbeens?Does to me and Iverson piloted that team to the finals.KG and Iverson are similar because they are both francise players but Iverson takes responsiblity for overall team play.

Brown resigned after he said he'd finish his career in Philly.Iverson dropped sixty the other night.Cant stay healthy? He plays all but 2 minutes a night and takes the most punishment in the league and isnt injury prone.

if malone played the series was different

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

You're actually getting close to understanding the situation. Iverson has a better supporting cast. The wolves are still hurting from the Joe Smith debacle(sp). Not having a first round pick, they needed players and the best thing at the time last year were our two misfits. They came in to a winning team, tops in their division from mediocre teams. The were handed a better situation and reveled in the chance to make a run at the NBA finals. The wolvies will be in a better spot next season.

I don't think you can give Iverson that much credit...once Larry bolted the team crumbled. Larry Brown deserves the credit for with standing that shit storm and getting them to the Finals.

Can anybody name Iversons supporting cast?Andre Igudola(who?),Kenny Thomas,Kyle Korver,Willie Green,Sam Dalembert,Glenn "Im working form home"Robinson and who else?I agree that the wolves will be better but KG needs to step up and be a leader.

that old man don't mean shit. fucking haters can't give credit to the champs when credit is due. they did things the non-convential way in the modern day NBA, hard work, playing the game the way coach says, and sharing the spot light with the whole team...

the spurs are no pushovers, especially with 2 titles and an outstanding team that was IMO the best in the league that year. off court distractions didn't mean shit, especially when the entire sports world said the Finals last year was no contest, Lakers in 4. Mother fuckers still weren't giving the Pistons credit until Game 5...

the sixers crumbled because Brown who was making all the decisions personel wise traded away larry hughes for nothing and theo ratliff a young center for mutombo. We were fucked when we brought in glen robinson not when larry brown left. They are in first in there division despite larry browns poor personel decisions.Larry deserves credit for the championship but trust me his "play the right way" mantra is bullshit. He shit on Iverson when he left for no other reason but to make the crumbled situation he left in philly look better.

what the pistons did was great
i did not say the lakers would have won if malone was 100%
but you would be a fool to say it would not have affected the series
it likely would have gone seven

So, in closing its all sprees and cassells fault. Who signed them? Who traded for them? Someone in Minny wanted those two there.... Spree has always been a cancer wherever he went. Cassell looks like a retarded goolie (remember the one that comes out of the toilet)....... but alas Mchale was prolly the one that wanted those two... now he has to coach them.

Better luck next year Minny
