If I was a Phil, I think I'd want Lee starting games 1, 4, and 7...even though the latter 2 would be on short rest.

Great point snarg.
Lees never pitched on three days rest.He'll go 5 and I can't see them not using him in 7 despite the short rest.

Blanton was also solid in the last years series and hit a home run so he shouldnt be nervous.

in 4 career starts against the Yankees, Blanton is 0-3 with an 8.18 era.
and if Lee pitches in game 5 (11/2) I can't believe he'd come back for game 7 (11/5) on two days rest unless he only throws an inning or two (or if he gets pwn3d in game 5 and only throws a few innings)

That would be ridiculous but its insanely possible.If Hamels throws a gem tonight then he pitches in game 7.If not odds are its pedro.I have a hard time believing Lee doesnt demand to pitch the last game of the season for all the marbles.
A rain out of game 6 would be huge.

i'm not even sure that would change anything.
if there's a rainout my guess is that MLB would just eliminate the off day between games 5 and 6, so if Lee pitches in game 4, he'd still be on two days rest for game 7.
unless of course Manuel changes his mind and has Lee go in game 3, and I can't see why he'd do that.

you could see a pedro/hamels combo in 7th like they did with moyer during the season

I wonder if Lee and Manuel had a discussion about him pitching on 3 days' rest (possibly pitching twice on short rest), and more importantly I wonder how it went. Did Lee demand the ball and Manuel said no? Did Manuel say no and Lee didn't fight? Did Lee say he couldn't or didn't want to do it?

I heard manuels press conference about it and he said it was strictly based on the fact he's never pitched on 3 days rest.Game 7 all bets are off Id think.

I got royally fucked up at this game.Vodka and OJ at noon to watch the Giants\Eagles, took a drinking break between 5-7 to shower and get to the game.Then proceeded to drink at least a beer an inning until they stopped serving in the 7th.
