That's actually what I did, too.

I don't think Danny wants to trade him anymore...I don't see how they'll get fair value, and while a few #1s would be nice, the last thing this team needs is to get even younger.

Why not get younger?Complete the rebuilding process.Pierce isnt paid that much where they wont be able to get some decent players\picks in return. Why are you guys so high on him now?I know he had a good month but who is the number two scorer on that team?Their roster is as weak as its been in years. He should be putting up 35 a night. They were a better team with Antoine.Bottom line is Pierce is not a franchise player to build around.Ainge knows this and he'll never get a better deal then he'll get this summer.

I couldn't disagree more. Pierce is absolutely the veteran superstar the team needs. Wally's knee is banged up, but he and Delonte West can put up 30-40 points per night between them. They got rid of Payton, Antoine, Ricky, and Blount, and now they're left with young dudes like West, Al Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, Ryan Gomes, Orien Greene, Gerald Green...all in their first couple years in the league. They won 3/4 on the west coast with West and Gomes starting and playing 35-40 minutes each. They're getting there...

PS - NJ is getting old and philly (and their young dudes) blows. The Atlantic will be wide open for a few years.

Look at the players you're naming and try to picture how they could get anywhere near an atlantic title.I know the east is as weak right now as its ever been but the Celts still are 8 games back. How do you figure they will compete if they cant do it right now?The Atlantic will be getting better via trades sooner than you think so banking on this current Celts roster as the future is a mistake. If you didnt have pierce what would you have?I disagree with the term superstar when it comes to him.The lakers suck and play no defense, any shooter can have 40 against them and thats all peirce is.Where has he lead them except to the second round of the playoffs?Danny didnt pick pierce, the teams 8 games out in a horrible divison and you think things are going in the right direction and Ainge isnt going to take the opportunity to revamp the team in his mold?Look at everybody on this roster minus paul and tell me they arent rebuilding.

Not that I expect you to, but you don't know much about any of the current Celtics players.

Here are the players you've accurately assessed: Szcerbiak, LaFrentz, Scalabrine, Dickau.

I just picture you spinning because Wooley believes in his team, and you, being the contradicting ass you are, pounding incoherently on your keyboard to get a response out.

I'm ready for AI to get traded. Maybe you'll shoot yourself in protest.

I dont profess to know much about the orion greens and T. Allens of the world but at best they are role players.

To clarify, I don't believe in "the team," I believe in some of the players and the team's general direction.

You're right, those two are both role players. I think Perkins is/will be as well. Gomes is a great energy/hustle player, but you could probably throw him in the role category as well.

But Delonte is a player and once Jefferson plays better D and keeps himself out of foul trouble, he'll be a 20/10 guy. Gerald Green is going to be special.

Picture me a student of the game talking on the phone and at the same time commenting on the celts who I pay attention to in a logical way while you take notes on my every word and try to pass the knowledge you gain off as your own to your freinds. The sixers will trade AI in the off season, they drafted a highschool kid last draft and made two trades this season for future picks. Its a mistake for Philly but AI deserves it because he plays hard every night.

Delonte's good. The other two are suspect.

Jefferson is awful on defense, so he's either benched or in foul trouble too frequently to do any damage on the offensive end. Perk is the opposite, great defender, limited offensively. Gerald Green is only 20, and has only seen major minutes in one game: 24 minutes, 13pts, 9rebs.
