In 1635, a vicious hurricane, known as the Great Colonial Hurricane, slammed into eastern Massachusetts, flattening many homes, toppling trees, and causing a 20-foot storm surge in the colony of Boston. More than 46 people were killed in the storm.

In 1814, a tornado struck parts of Washington, D-C, killing many British soldiers who were burning and pillaging the nation's capital.

Anyone have a good link for live tracking a hurricane? Thanks.

the noaa site is top-notch

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.
