Should hockey goalies get to wear alternate jerseys like their soccer counterparts? I think that would be sweet. Currently they do not match their team mates, shin pads, gloves, stick and thier custom painted helmets.

well that could be visually interesting when they are in a powerplay game..but I fear that we finish with a team who won't look like a team, if you already count that the team captain got a different helmet (or was it the best shooter ?).

it helps the judges to determine if there's a foul play as the soccer goalie is the only person who is allowed (under certain conditions) to grab the ball with hands.

Yeah that's what I figured it was. Hockey goalies have enough other equipment on that telling them apart obviously isn't an issue.

yup I'm willing to say "football" but doing so I'll have to explain to a bunch of american sport nuts that the sport that is practiced by a bunch of doodz under amphetamines wearing kevlar elmets is not "football".
