This is a good point. I don't think anyone has a problem with Mothers breastfeeding their children if they at least attempt to do it modestly. (please note I did not say discreetly) It's the fat loud obnoxious ones that plop down in the middle of the food fair and glom their 4 year old child onto their boob and then glare around just daring anyone to say anything. It's akin to gays screaming around having parades. Yeah you're gay, you don't need a fucking parade. No one cares.

Whatever gives kids the best start should be actively encouraged. God knows they'll have plenty of time for eating junk down the road. That being said, breastfeeding moms don't deserve a medal.

No. But, you can be asked to leave certain areas when breastfeeding. It's not illegal but private establishments have the right. And they will do it.

I've seen nana breast feed. Pretty neat.
I still get uncomfortable around women I don't know who are breast feeding. Not because breast feeding makes me feel uncomfortable - by all means, hang those puppies out. But because I don't want to make them uncomfortable. I don't want them to think I am staring, or purposely not staring, etc.
Though I do think women should wear nursing covers, and find somewhere quiet to go (not secluded, or the bathroom) more because I myself can't imagine feeling comfortable with hanging my boobs out in the food court.
